The Steps to Achieve the Competitive Job of a Team Orthopedic Physician.
I alluded to this in earlier blog posts, but in this particular blog post, I will get into the specifics of each subtopic.
- Attend a Top-Tier Undergrad University
- Attend a Top-Tier Medical School with a Great MCAT Score
- Use these Connections to Get a Good Launching Point for My Career (First Job)
- Gain Experience to Eventually Earn a Job for a Professional Team
- Open my Own PRACTICE!
Attend a Top-Tier Undergrad University
Goal:
My goal is to definitely attend one of the Top 30 Schools in the Nation, but my first-choice would definitely be Duke University. Duke University is my dream college for a variety of reasons including it's the best balanced university besides Stanford in terms of the quality of Athletic and Academic programs. Both schools, annually, distinguish themselves as Top 10 in both categories.
Both visuals excellently demonstrates the quality of Duke, as it is tied for being the 8th best college in the country while ranked 3rd best in nation for College Basketball.
The quality of the athletic programs will, hopefully, allow me to intern with such world-class athletes to better improve my resume and connections when I pursue my career later in life. Attending such a prestige undergrad university will allow me to distinguish myself from the pack in the ever-growing competitive market of Sports Medicine.

Attend a Top-Tier Medical School
Goal:
Once again, My goal is to definitely attend one of the Top 30 Medical Schools in the Nation, but my first-choice would definitely be John Hopkins University. In order to attend such a high-quality medical school, my individual resume has to be literally off the charts to distinguish myself from the other competitors.
In order to separate myself, the best way to acquire knowledge is to acquire it hands-on or with experience. I plan on getting an internship during the summer with a top-tier medical firm as attending Duke, will allow me to get certain connections as seen in Dr. Waslewski in the previous posts. His use of connections to top-tier residencies and firms is a direct reflection of the quality of the school he attended.
Therefore, I hope with both my internships with the excellent Duke Basketball Team, and private medical firm allows me to attend one of the top-tier medical schools in the nation.
But, in case for failure, my Plan B is to go the Dr. James Andrews' route, who can also be seen in my last blog post as he did not attend a high-quality medical school like Dr. Wasklewski, therefore he wasn't able to get the connections that Dr. Waslewski achieved. As a result, My drive for success and hard work will eventually leave me to a path of success. "The path less traveled."

Use these Connections to Get a Good Launching Point
This principle can be seen in the section above as attending a high-quality medical school will allow me to receive certain benefits and connections to top-tier fellowships across the nation as seen in the private medical firm, that I plan on attending.
Connections to future enhancers of success is one of the primary reasons in my selection of both medical school and college as it will make my path to a future profession faster and better.

Gain Experience to Eventually Earn a Job for a Professional Team
-This is a reflection of the quality of the fellowship and residency I plan on attending, such as the medical firm seen above.
Acquiring such knowledge and skillsets at such a relatively young age in the business will definitely make my path to a job on a Professional Team a lot more quicker and efficient.

Open my own PRACTICE!
After earning a job for a professional team, It is primarily a part-time job as off seasons will allow me to work for other firms and hopefully other professional teams as seen in both gentlemen in the previous blog posts. The optimal goal for any physician or doctor in the business is to make a name for one's self. Opening up a practice and calling the shots allows one to accomplish both their personal goals and professional goals!
