"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you." - Friedrich Nietzsche
Survival Guide to Monsters (The 2-Option Way)
You might be wondering to yourself, "What exactly are monsters, how do we combat them?"
These are my two possible ways to combat Monsters.
As you can see, in various texts relative to monsters as seen in the Poem Kraken (see blog post #1), many texts suggest a response to a monster, along the lines of ignoring these perceived monsters as a way to not let them affect you.
These are my two possible ways to combat Monsters.
- Option 1: The more popular choice, Ignore these perceived monsters so it won't be able to confront you, as seen in the Poem Kraken, or do not let them affect you.
- Option 2: Either get rid of these monsters.
As you can see, in various texts relative to monsters as seen in the Poem Kraken (see blog post #1), many texts suggest a response to a monster, along the lines of ignoring these perceived monsters as a way to not let them affect you.
- These texts were unique, in responding along the lines of Option 2.
- Beware!! In responding in an Option 2 fashion, keep in mind this wonderful quote from Friedrich Nietzsche, in the attempt to get rid of these monsters, do not turn yourself into a monster in a way to combat these monsters, because these monsters are like a mirror, stay and combat recklessly, you can see yourself become one, as seen in the failed Stanford Experiment. Connections between Option 2 and Our Sources
Recall
- Women, were regarded as the monsters in both sources...But Why?! This is a question that you might be asking yourself right now, The popular answer would be, "because that's what the author and director wanted them to be."
- But, people like me and you who have knowledge on Monsters and their affect on humanity, the knowledgable answer is......Drumroll Please.... Monsters and Beauty have a direct correlation...What?! Say What again..
- Ok. Ok, Growing up kids, you remember our sisters' favorite movie?.. Yeah, yeah Beauty and the Beast...Without knowing at that time, they taught us a valuable lesson: Anything that looks different from us to any extent will be regarded as, "Ugly, Not Normal, Different, Beast/Monster." We can see that moral in these sources and even our favorite movie growing up!
